Their mission is to provide transportation and programs for disabled kids and adults.

But now some of that mission might be in jeopardy after a Creve Coeur based non-profit group is hit by heartless criminals.

"It's just a sad feeling that someone would do this," said Jerry Ehrlich, the Executive Director for the St. Louis Society for the Physically Disabled.

Five of the non-profit group's wheelchair accessible vans had the catalytic converters cut out of them either late Wednesday or early Thursday morning at they sat in front of the agency's Creve Coeur office.

The consequence- the vans are basically out of service until repairs can be made.

"We're an organization where all of our resources whether it's money or time (are) extremely limited. And it's the last thing we really want to deal with," explained Ehrlich.

The vans are used to pick up disabled kids and adults and take them to programs activities.

Ehrlich says now of some programs and activities could now be at risk because there might not be transportation to pick up the clients.
